Hi! I am Mrs. Nancy Piner. I teach 8th grade social studies on the Leatherback team. I have taught 8th grade social studies for the past 9 years at MCMS. Before that I taught a variety of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade language arts and social studies classes at MCMS and in Johnston and Wake counties. Of all the things I have taught, I like my current position best, as I have always loved history.
I grew up in South Dakota, and love to return in the summers when I can, to visit my family and the beautiful land. I took the picture in the banner on the top of this page near where I grew up. The landscape is so different than eastern North Carolina.
I enjoy living here too – going to the beach or out to Cape Lookout is always an adventure. My family consists of my husband and daughter, a hyper-active beagle, two lazy cats and one very grateful kitten that we rescued in January. I enjoy all kinds of crafts, but mostly sewing and crochet. I also love to take pictures and make scrapbooks of my memories. Most of my travels consist of visiting my family, but I also love to go to any historic place to soak up history.
